Dean Wilson, General Manager
Dean spent 18 years as an award winning PGA Professional in Middle Atlantic and North Florida. His biggest career thrill was to work alongside Johnny Miller and the JMDesign team as the Director of Golf while building the Harmony Golf Preserve in Central Florida.
As the General Manager for Florida Synthetic Turf, Dean knows from experience what customers want and expect from their synthetic turf. He drives excellence with his team from design through installation when working on synthetic turf putting greens, lawns, and pet areas for residential and commercial properties.
Dean is a proud resident of Chuluota Florida, loves spending time with his wife Michelle and his children and the family Bernese Mountain dog.
Jay Gallo, VP of Sales
Jay was ‘drafted’ to become Bethlehem Steel’s head golf professional at age 19, joined the PGA of America and became a Class A member at age 21. At the same time, as a full-time student, Jay ran the 27-hole Donald Ross course, becoming General Manager through its transition to a private club.
After 25 years and a move to Jacksonville, FL, Jay was introduced to Tour Greens owners and their cutting-edge synthetic turf putting green company with 30 years of experience creating many advancements in yarn, turf and construction methods. Jay and Matt Morman worked on numerous projects and developed a professional relationship leading to the VP of Sales role in Orlando.
Matt Morman, Owner
Matt earned his Business Degree with a specialization in Professional Golf Management from Mississippi State University. This was followed by 13 years as a PGA of America Professional.
Matt started in the synthetic industry in 2013 as a Regional Sales Manager for The Recreational Group (XGrass, Tour Greens, Versacourt), and was promoted to VP of Operations for the Tour Greens brand. In 2017 Matt started Tour Greens Columbus, now Tour Greens Ohio, and through various partnerships installed putting greens across 19 states including California, North Dakota and Alabama. Matt is the sole owner and operator of Maxx Turf (Tour Greens Ohio & Indiana).
Matt met Michele (Category Manager for Cardinal Health) in 2007 and they married in 2009. They have two growing children, Mackenzie Grace and Rexford Hayes, and live in Gahanna, Ohio.
Shannon Thomas-Schheetz, Executive Assistant
Born and raised in Dublin, OH, Shannon graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and spent her first decade in that industry. After working for Matt’s wife at Zulily and taking a break to raise her two children, Cade & Carly, Shannon felt the drive to return to the workforce. Now, she passionately operates Florida Synthetic Turf, brings her integrity, communication skills, organization, and attention to detail to the forefront.
What's in a Name?
Tour Greens Orlando is a Maxx Turf Brand. The Maxx in Maxx Turf is derived from a few parts of owner Matt Morman’s life. Matt’s kids are Mackenzie (6) and Rex (2), and when you combine a few letters from their names, you have Max. Matt is also a lifelong dog lover and has been fortunate to have two rescue pups named Maxx and Max. Finally, Matt and his team believe in giving the Maximum effort in all they do in this business and believe that Maxx Effort shows through every project.
